R.J. Handcrafted Knives was founded over 30 years ago by bob jolley, and this tradition is now being carried on by his son josh jolley. 

Having been born and raised in Montana bob jolley has been blessed with ample opportunities to hunt, fish and back pack in the rugged Absaroka-Beartooth and many other Mountains. With all of these loves there was a demand for the use of a knife.

The factory knives which were available never did satisfy My Dad's needs. he was/Is an avid reader, especially on subjects that he loves (Knives Being One) occasionally he read the attributes of a custom knife verses the factory knife. After these readings he knew that he had to have a custom knife. In the mid 50's and early 60's finding a custom knife was difficult. There were a few custom knife makers around: R.H. Ruana, Scagle, Morseth & Randall. Luckily for my dad residing here in our native state of Montana was the custom knife maker R.H. Ruana. After that first purchase from R.H. Ruana my dad's interest in custom knives was forever hooked. Since then he has  bought, sold, collected and traded many custom knives from many different custom makers.

In 1977, a good friend of my dad's by the name of L.B. Lienemann (a well known knife maker in Billings, MT) taught him the art of custom knife making. This process took time, patience and honest criticism from Louie before my dad considered himself a custom knife maker. With this evolution , over 30 years of personal experience and passing these experiences onto me his son has made R.J. Handcrafted knives some of the highest quality custom knives on the market today.
